We could talk about the music. We could talk about the songs. But instaed, lets talk about Jimey. Mr. Fibulee and I sped north almost to the Wisc. border to the charminglittle town of Waukeegan Illinois to see.........The Man Himself, once more.
Fib's wasn't going, or even aware that old Steve, old Steve Morrissey , was going, but he made the show. He Made the show. We got in rite when Morrissey was hitting the stage, and from the minute we got in, we were rocking silly. Good show by Morrissey = although it wasn't as good as the earlier show @ the Aud in the Loop that I saw w/ the Patiences http://securityout.blogspot.com/2007/05/bulls.html, ((((for some reason, lynx are not working properly to-day, so just paste the address etc...))) it was good. "Billy Budd" was one of the headliners.
But it was the complete exeburence of Jimey that was the most enjoyable part of this nite. he was in rare from, and from the minute we got to the seats, we were standing (well, all were), singing along, clapping along, shouting, dansing..... It was a nice time to let go.
And it was a time to shout out requests. The place we saw the show= the Gensee Theatre- is a nice snug little place to watch a show. And it was nicel accousted, so our shouts carried. The shouts quickly went from "Morrissey is God" to quickly "Morrissey is Lord"- a favourite of mine- until it desended into ridicilousness: "Morrissey is Caesar" "Hitler", until, finally, cutting throught it all @ the exact moment the crowd and Morrissey were silent @ the same time=
"HAIL CAESAR !!!"
This was the scream for the rest of the show, along w/ more "Morrissey is Lord". Morrissey later was ragging on the media and mocking it's intersts, but when he said "I could care less about Anna Nicole Smith" Jimey screamed out "I loved her", which got the TEN rows around us laughing.
It was great to see Mr. Fibs in such a good mood. He was just so stoked for the show. Really, he was excited as (and in a different context) as the 13 yo girls@ Shea Stadium wetting their drawers during a Beatles show.
Next Morrissey show is Saturday in Indiana. I'm going, and draggin' Gf as well. ASfter all, it could all end to-morrow....................
