TC Pub had another good-sized crowd for trivia night, and Benkowski Nation was shocked to see the return of Save the Chief at their old front table. The main Chief guy switched from an Illini to a White Sox cap, but the Asian mail-order bride was still in tow. Perhaps still stung by the old “Ladies Only” challenge that resulted in the Chief exodus, she refused to partake in any such events tonight.

Teams will be allowed only 1 correct answer before losing control of the board. This rule will lead to a trivia night longer than the average Britt Burns/Carlton Fisk battery’d baseball game.
The team in last place at the half will get to pick categories for the second half. This option looked desirable upon seeing the first half categories.

The Chief was back to its old tricks on Hilts when J&B would elect to use a “throw the ball” trick, as they would verbally try disruption just as he would throw. As Hilts made J&B’s fourth and final toss, Benkowski says the throw won’t count- he declares that future transgressions in the area of disrupting a team’s throw will result in the throw automatically considered successful. However, Hilts had not been rattled by the Chief’s “Noonan-like” shenanigans and successfully made the throw. The new rule did not need to be evoked- it just didn’t matter.
