Casting for the Speed Racer movie (due out May 2008):
Speed- Emile something or other (don't know him, but he looks Speed-ish)
Racer X- Matthew Fox (apparently on "Lost", which I've never seen)
Trixie- Christina Ricci
Pops Racer- John Goodman
Mom Racer- Susan Sarandon
I like the casting of Goodman as Pops (I assume Matt Millen was unavailable), but I'm undecided on Ricci as Trixie.....thoughts?

I am not that familiar with her. Is Bill being considered for the Spridel role?
How is it that I wasn't sent up to be Speed??
Sparky is not going to be in the movie? Was he not considered due to screwing up Speed's break on the Sword Mountain Race?
I imagine Ricci best known for playing Wednesday in the Addams Family movies from the 1990s. She can look cute, but either her forehead is too big for her face, or her face is too small for her forehead. Unfortunately, she often wears her hair in a style that emphasizes that disparity. She's a good actress (not sure how necessary that will be to play Trixie) and for press conference had hairdo that looked good for the role. Very different body-type from what I assume would fit Trixie. Ricci may not be even 5 feet tall, and she's pretty well endowed for that size.
Sparky is listed for the movie- however, he now has to show up at Acey Ducey's parole hearings every year in order to keep the role.
The press conference transcript even alludes to movie including Inspector Detector. I can only hope a Snake Oiler cameo is in the works, too.
Ricci has a fivehead.
